I tried to get the "new" COVID shot just before I went to Glasgow for WorldCon last year, and was told not only was it not yet available ("next week, though!") but that they had removed all of the "old" vaccines from use.
Guess where I got COVID for the first time? (It was miserable. But it would have been MORE miserable if I hadn't religiously got the original vaccine and boosters. I'm 72.)
