Visiting the Vampires

Blood test done amid moderate upset. Giving blood isn't all that big a deal, especially with a good nurse, which I had today (thank you, Jim). Giving blood while the blood sugar is dancing due to a loooong time without food, is ...upsetting. In any case, all done now and awaiting results, which the doctor's office seemed to think they'd have this afternoon. Which would be nice, I guess.

In the meantime, I've written Copious Notes for a novel I don't have time to write and no one likely wants to read anyway. Might, as Steve has suggested, see if it can't be squinched into a novella, though the market for novellas isn't exactly robust. And the characters aren't going to just let me drop it. *These* characters? No way. Uppity dern characters.

Speaking of uppity characters, I need to finish, or at least get a good run-up on the rewrite of the Miri story today before we leave for the lecture at the Oakland adult ed writing class. Most of tomorrow will be eaten up with the Orono signing and then a trip to Augusta to pick up the printing, and Thursday morning will be sliced and diced by the taping for the cable show. Busy, busy. For some definition of busy.

Started reading Hambly's _Graveyard Dust_ last night and took it with me to the lab this morning. All fine so far. Good worldbuilding, interesting characters, intriguing though not compelling mystery.

Scrabble has come in and inspected my notes and this journal entry thus far. All meets with her approval and she's off to Supervise someone else until my turn comes around again on the guitar.

I'm gone.
