Yeesh, I just followed that thread

It may just be me, or people (like myself) who enjoyed Iron Kissed didnt respond to it, but it seemed everyone took this person at what they blogged without any questioning and most seemed to bag on the book simply because the poster slammed on it.

I really liked all three of the books, doesnt mean I wasnt angry at parts but all in all I enjoyed them all, fast fun reads

Hullo, poster in question here. There were certainly readers who said they'd opt out of the book because of my description, but it certainly wasn't everyone. Several folks posting on that thread did end up reading the book. Mostly they agreed with my take, but some didn't.

Check out the date stamp on the post. I blogged the book about a week after its release. There simply weren't many people who'd had a chance to get their hands on it at that point.

The folks who read my journal aren't big on blind acceptance and they're not shy about speaking up when they I've got something wrong (and I value that quite a lot).

Oops, dropped a word there. That should read, "...when they think I've..."

Very cool

I had gotten to your post thru someones link and the only responses I saw seemed all very lemming to me

Good to here it was me assuming and not that everyone was blindly following some bloggers feelings about a series

I can definitely see how it would look that way to someone who isn't familiar with the journal and the commenters! I appreciate the chance to elaborate a wee bit.

(The other thing in play is that most of those folks have been reading long enough to be familiar with my taste, so they know whether they're likely to agree with me on certain things. Which I guess can be a form of lemminghood, but it's an informed one, so.)

AHAHAHA

I can also see that people who do go to your blog and follow the way you think might be the ones who would respond.

I did not respond because I did not feel the way you did and not knowing you didnt want to say 'What the hell are you talking about'

;)

I am duly chastised. I talk and blog the way I feel and if people dont like it they can take it or leave it.

I really did like that series tho hehe

Ah, I didn't mean to chastise you! Apologies if it felt that way. I just meant to explain what it looked like from where I sat.

And hey, no worries if it all looks different to you. That's why they publish so many different books, eh? Something(s) for everyone.

Ahaha

Oddly I didnt mean chastised in a bad way, simple being enlightened

No worries, I did not feel like I was being talked down to or anything

My apologies for making it read like that

;)

Hee. Then I will move for a virtual shaking of hands, so we don't end up apologizing to each other unnecessarily for the next hour! *g*
