Considering the heavens
Full lunar eclipse tonight, starting about 9:14 p.m. EDT; totality at 10:23 p.m. Be there or be square.
Read over the last section of Crystal Dragon, which does not, in the Lesser Frazzledness of the day after, totally suck. I did some tightening up, some (I hope) clarification. My reach may still exceed my grasp -- time will tell -- and it may be that I'll have learned enough by the end of the book to come back to this scene and make it as smooth and cool as I want it to be.
This being an action-adventure skiffy kinda book, it may sound a little odd when I say that one of the things I want to discuss within the context of the story is identity and the extent to which we invent ourselves; the process of invention; the cost of self-defense. You might say that we've already talked about that, but -- no. The Agent of Change sequence is about redemption, and recovery from the choices thrust upon one by other people. Same field, different row.
In any case, the scene's good enough now that I can go on to the next, which I'll do tomorrow.

Drove to Augusta to deliver many SRM chapbooks to the printer for re-printing. They'll be ready next Wednesday. I'm thinking Carla may not have realized that next Tuesday is the presidential election. For all I know the print shop doesn't close for elections.
The car has been to the shop and back again. The brakes feel really tight. Guess I'll get used to that.
