The author declares a draft

It’s short, full of holes, and messy.  It also needs at least two sub-lines lain in before I can properly finish the Thrilling Conclusion.  Therefore!

Ladies and gentlefriends, we have a draft!

Ghost Ship, First Draft

85,285 words/100,000

What happens next is that I compile the chapters, print out and read the whole thing, inasmuch as there is a “whole thing,” note the places where those lines need to be lain, do that, then print out the new “whole thing” and do a rolling edit.

What happens before any of that, though, is that I fall on my nose.

*thud*

Huzzah!

I am mid-way through Saltation and I can say that I really appreciate how much work there is between the draft and the final print edition. I loved the draft, and find the final copy wonderful too.

Yay The Draft!/Addition Where is Surebleak?

Yay the draft. Great news. Put mattress on floor before going thud.

Addition to where is Surebleak. Drawing a straight line between Lytaxin and Terra. Then between the two sectors one must take a hard right or left off the main trade routes a ways. Forgot that. But.... remembering when Pat Rin put an ad in paper for "pilot friendly port, all amenities, casino"...the boss of the Dept. of the Interior knew exactly where he was. So Surebleak isn't that hard to find actually. Loved the poll too.

WAY cool!

Hoo-ray! You deserve a good nap after such indentured servitude. Does this make seven books in the last couple years? Will finishing Ghost Ship get you off the hook with your adoring fans for a bit? :)
Congrats - Capricchio

Burton from Montreal

Happy news. The wait begins for Ghost Ship to make an appearance from Baen in some form.

Time for Rolanni & Kinzel to take a short reprise from their various writing projects to recharge their batteries.

Slightly off topic. Any rumblings on the annual Liadan chapbook.
