First - just got my copy of Ghost Ship from Uncle Hugo's. Hurrah! Skyblaze too, which I missed ordering before for some reason. Just received a "Thanks for being a great customer, we are closing" email from Borders. We do have several good independents in Northern CA, including Green Apple Books and Copperfields (3 stores) in Sonoma County, but Borders was much closer, and had more room for local groups and authors to meet. I like my Kindle for traveling, and for avoiding building more bookshelves (we are running out of room!) but I really prefer looking for books in a bookstore.
