No one gets out alive
As reported elsewhere and more eloquently by others who knew her far better than I, Anna Vargo died a few minutes after midnight today, in her home, and surrounded by those who loved her.
I only met Anna at BucConeer. She was quiet, as I knew her, and she Paid Close Attention; she met your eye when she talked with you. She was practical, and sharp, and knew a good joke when she heard one. She had the most amazing smile I've ever seen -- joyful, childlike and mischievous. Though I did not know her well -- or long -- I'm going to miss her. She was that kind of person.
