Crystal Soldier Mailing Update
Many of you who pre-ordered signed copies of _Crystal Soldier_ have been writing to us and to Meisha Merlin, concerned -- and justly so -- about the status of your order.
The mailing this year is very late, for which we apologize, though much of *why* it is late is beyond our control. The books, which were initially supposed to be delivered to us prior to February 24, did not in fact arrive until March 14. It does take some time to sign, box, and deliver books to the post office, but we applied ourselves as best we might, between trying to finish up _Crystal Dragon_ and completing another project which had developed an unexpected urgency, and we managed to fill the greater portion of the orders, up to last names beginning with "Sti--".
At this point, we ran out of postage money. We are currently awaiting a check from Meisha Merlin to cover the remainder of the postage. As soon as that arrives and clears, we will mail the rest of the books. Realistically, this may not be until the second -- or even the third -- week in April. We are very sorry about this.
Just a general FYI, the last batch of books was mailed on the morning of March 24, priority mail. If you are in the US, and your name falls above "Sti--" in the alphabet, *and* you *pre-ordered* (that means -- you placed an order before February 2005), you should have your book now.
If you believe your book has not arrived, please check with wives, husbands, roommates, and children before sending a inquiry. Several folks who have written have subsequently found that someone else in the household had gotten to the mail ahead of them, and were reading the book.
