Thank you! I can see that if I am ever forced toward 10 I will head for Linux. I am not terrible at hands-on ... I was a computer programmer for 16 years, and if I need to figure things out I suppose I can manage. If I go over, I'll see what I can do about illuminating file processing. The little part time things I do are all file based.
