Alliance of Equals eARC

The electronic advance reading copy (aka, the one with the (most) mistakes in it) of Alliance of Equals, by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, the 19th novel-length adventure in the Liaden Universe®!

. . .is now available for sale via download.

Here's your link

I trust you all know what to do.

On a related note, I've got a side bet going with Belle, who doesn't think we can sell more than 500 copies of the ARC.  O, cat of little faith.  Sprite, on the other paw, thinks we can earn out the advance on eARC sales.  Of course, Sprite's still a little unclear on the whole Base Ten thing...

Well, I've done my part! I'm now two eARCs ahead of the MMP copies ;/

So when the published ebook comes out, will you let your curious readers know how many e-arc copies sold?

I certainly lost no time buying a copy for myself and my husband.

If Baen is kind enough to tell us, yes, we will share.

Voting for Sprite

I have my copy, and am reading as fast as I can. And here's hoping Sprite is right. I found the discussion in the Bar quite interesting on the $$ in eARCs.

I of course hope Sprite is right, too, but, if I'm doing the math right (always a chancy bet), we get 25% of cover on a $15 book, or $3.75 each. So, we'd have to sell on the order of 5,333 eARCs to earn out our advance. We know we sold 447 eARCS of Dragon in Exile, and I suspect that Belle is correct in doubting that we can break 500 for Alliance, but that's looking like a Far More Reasonable Number to me.

I couldn't resist

I had planned to wait until the actual release date, but when you mentioned the bet with Belle I decided that I'd go for it tonight. Of course, I daren't start reading it until after April 15th (or actually April 18th this year) because of how I make my living. But on April 19th I'll have your new book AND C. J. Cherryh's new book waiting for me. That will be a tough choice!

Have your checked Sprite for polydactyl tendencies? I mean, when counting on your front paws, you get ten, but on the hind paws, you only get eight, and then there's the relatives who have more toes... Base ten is just a starting point for cats, right?

Sorry, eArc to read, can't count Sprite's toes now.

Have to wait until Friday but it's the very first thing on that day's agenda.

BAEN passwords

[identity profile] ireneha.livejournal.com 2016-04-01 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Baen, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to expire passwords.
Then their "forgot password" link didn't work.

Luckily, sending email to Info@baen.com does work, and they were able to reset my password. My history was still there.

So, I just had to wait one extra day to get my download. [As I only log on my computer once a day.]

Now I have to "TRY" to wait a bit longer, so I have something to read on my next vacation.
