I don't wear shoes in the house either. In the first place, I really don't like the idea of tracking outside inside. In the second place, you don't need shoes inside. Inside has floors. Also I have had cats for quite a while -- down to one now, alas, but the principle is still the same. If you're barefoot, or wearing socks, you can feel when you're about to come crunching down on kitty tootsies or kitty tailses before you actually come crunching down on them. I'll have to check out those construction socks. In winter, I usually wear knitted booties with double knitted soles.
