Where was I?

Oh, yes.

We're free!

...and in the process of cleaning the Debris of Creation(TM) off my desk (yes, yes, with a forklift -- how else?), I found the list of synopses-and-chapters to be written. A new war cry is obviously in order:

We're (provisionally) free!

Since our last exciting chapter, milkshakes have been savored; flood waters have been viewed (from a safe distance, more or less); music has been appreciated; cats have been variously adored and tortured, sometimes simultaneously; rain has rained, returned for an encore -- and then another -- Scrabble attempted to kidnap my blue-and-silver dragon, leaving a permanent dent in one horn; a doctor's appointment which was supposed to be a cakewalk inexplicably wasn't; and -- the sun came out.

Also, in the Now It Can Be Told Department, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel and I will be at the New York City flavor of BEA on Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4. We'll be at the Diamond Distribution/Meisha Merlin booth -- and, no, I don't know where that is.

Today's work involves emptying the file SRM file drawers of FY 2004 and loading them up with empty FY 2005 folders, then going through the bookkeeping one more time, to see if I'm ready for the accountant. At some point -- possibly tomorrow -- my work table will need to be excavated.

Reading: Kage Baker's The Life of the World to Come, and having great fun with it. [livejournal.com profile] kinzel has just finished reading CJ Cherryh's Destroyer, so I know what I'm going to read next, too.

BEA is what?

On the other hand, I'm in the 'burbs of NYC...

BEA is Book Expo America. It's at the Javits Convention Center. Webpage here (http://www.bookexpoamerica.com)

Where about in the 'burbs?

I'm out on Long Island, about..urm...45 minutes on the Long Island RR from Manhattan. If you wanted to meet up at some point, it would be easy enough to do.

Ah, being (provisionally) free is a wonderful feeling -- good to hear that it was celebrated with milkshakes and catplay.
