I love dogs, but I can relate to your relief at seeing the tail end of that one! I only had a theoretical understanding of depression until I had my first baby and fell into the black pit of despair and didn't manage to crawl out for about 8 years. It sure ramps up a person's empathy. Your post really touched me. Take care.
