Patreon Goody the First
The first goody supporting the new Patreon goal went up last night. Here's the link.
I note that, as of this morning, we are a mere Usian $253 short of the new goal.
Thank you all so very much for your support.
Trooper and I were collaborating last night, which is why this notice is a little late:

Cutting Corners
Re: Cutting Corners
Or you could type Baen.com and scroll down the front page a little bit when you arrive, until you find the story.
Choice is yours.
Thank you for the goody and the new story
(Anonymous) 2017-04-18 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)I also enjoyed listening to Steve read the "goody" story, he has a pleasant voice to listen to. Somehow, that story reminds me of the Lord Darcy murder-and-magic stories by Randall Garrett, and a bit of the Dorothy Sayers detectives about Lord Peter Wimsey. Did those inspire you too, for this story?
I'm sorry I can't increase my Patreon at this point, I'll try to add an incidental bit on Splinter Universe when I can.
Re: Thank you for the goody and the new story
I wish there was a way to thank people for new support without making people who have been long-time supporters, or who buy our books and wish us well, feel like they're not doing enough. Haven't hit on it, yet. We appreciate all y'all and everything you do.
The story in question is a riff off of the old "Nick and Nora" mysteries -- The Thin Man, written by Dashiell Hammett and brought charmingly to the screen by William Powell and Myrna Loy. We keep saying that we're going to write more; haven't yet.
