So, where were we?

Ah, yes -- the accountant.

Let it be known that the accountant was duly visited, papers were exchanged and completed tax forms were promised RSN. Let it also be known that Thursday was so dern pretty, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel and I decided to take the new car -- now officially Argent -- for a spin. We spun out to Belfast and watched the wind and the water while we ate our grocery-store sandwiches and mocked the seagulls through our moonroof. The sky was deeply blue, cuddling a crescent moon as insubstantial as mist. The wind was a beast and a menace, slapping the dark water into white caps. I love the wind.

After lunch, we spun our ride a bit further, to Winterport, to visit the winery and bring home two special bottles -- Spring Fever was my choice, a blend of strawberry and apple wine; [livejournal.com profile] kinzel chose Pear wine. Oh, and a joint purchase of a jar of pickled garlic. Eventually, we wended home and nattered at chores until it was time to meet for dinner.

Friday, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel had an early consultation with the dentist, after which we finally got the prescriptions for his new driving glasses and upgraded computer glasses filled. Then, of course, it was necessary to take the car for a spin -- it being another blue and glorious day, though perhaps not quite so windy -- out through Smithfield and the back way to Norridgewock, over to the Skowhegan, and the River Road return to the hometown. We stopped at the video store, and came home with Sky Captain, The Incredibles, and The Merchant of Venice.

We watched Sky Captain last night and had a good time with it. I'm old enough to remember serials in the theaters, and to me the movie was true to the form, even unto the flatness of the characters and the utter lack of spark between Joe and Polly. It falls into that category of movie that I'm glad someone was able to make, and I'm not sorry I saw it -- but I don't believe I'll be seeing it again.

And, finally -- plushie pictures. Warning: Not for the faint of heart, or for those with slow connections.
