Is My Father's Dragon a book about a boy and some dragons with blue and yellow spots (or something like that)? And does it have some sequels? When I was very young, the library in the town where we lived had a series of books about a boy and some dragons that were just about my favorite books. We moved from there after I finished first grade and I've never found those books again.

That's the one. Elmer Elevator is the name of "my father" - the boy hero of the stories. There were three altogether: My Father's Dragon, Elmer and the Dragon, and The Dragons of Blueland.

All three were collected into one volume a couple years ago: Three Tales of My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett, with illustrations and maps by Ruth Chrisman Gannett.
