The QP version of the Partners in Necessity omnibus is one of the most-often-loaned books in our library. Usually friends get about 2/3 of the way through and go out and buy their own paperbacks.

I, at Sharon's suggestion, started reading with Fledgling. This would have been my entry point to a universe that was already about ten books long.

I then added Partners to my library.

I've always wondered why on earth the cover artist drew Shan that way for the omnibus. Dramatic lighting for no apparent reason!
