Scramble

The revisions for Crystal Dragon at last arrived from Meisha Merlin and have been dealt with as they deserved. As soon as [livejournal.com profile] kinzel gets home, he'll go over the list again to make sure I didn't sleep anything. After, I'll email it off to our editor, and /c/o/l/l/a/p/s/e get back to "The Beggar King." Oh, and the authors' afterword for CD still needs to be finished. So, okay -- back to the story tomorrow.

The copy edit for Liaden Universe Companion, Volume I has been delivered by Eddie the FedEx guy. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] elektra_h for a Really Quick turn-around!

Tomorrow evening, we're promised to the Pottering at Children's Book Cellar. This year, Ellen's going to have the kids draw lots for a character and then they'll do a readers theater to entertain themselves and the rest of us, which ought to be fun. And there will be games, face painting, and the ever-popular etcetera. As in years past, a good time will be had by all.

We're under a severe thunderstorm warning. A thunderstorm would be pleasant, though not, I suppose, before I do the dishes. Why, I ask, can't the cats do the dishes when we're on deadline?

Dunno, but if you ever teach yours to, you could make millions teaching the rest of us how to teach ours. :)

Cats and Chores and bills.........

I don't what it is with cats. I know that wheb ever we leave the house for a doy or two we tell the cats to pay the bills while we're out but evcer time when we return the bills are unpaid. Maybe we should try asking them to do the dishes start small and work up.

It would, my cats tell me, set a dangerous precedence. Pretty soon you'd expect them to do the dishes all time, and there's no telling where that might lead.

Two reasons.

First off, cats don't have opposable thumbs. And, in the grand scheme of things, aren't we all glad about that?

Secondly, cat dignity, a prime component of cat-being, is water soluble. Wet cats just look funny.

Do you like working with MEISHA MERLIN? I've heard good things about them and met a couple of the guys at the 2002 Nebula Con in San Jose, CA.

Thanks,

Shannon

Well, Crystal Dragon is the ninth book/eleventh novel we've done with Meisha Merlin, so, yeah -- we like working with them.

That sounds like a good company then. :)
