Belfast and Birthday Cake
Saturday, July 30th, 2005 07:06 pmTook off for Belfast (Maine) after breakfast, it being a glorious bright, blue day and nothing workwise yelling loud enough that it couldn't be ignored. We walked the public dock, admiring all the pretty boats, briefly considered buying our very own hole in the water, and wandered up the hill to town, purchasing celebratory chocolate along the way, as well as a much-needed cutting board and a trivet.
On the way home, we spied a SALE NOW ON at the Bean Call Center, turned in and by great good luck snagged two bags -- one for
kinzel and one for me (hey, it was marked down!). This was especially fortunate because
kinzel had settled on just this sort of bag and we were set to make the pilgrimage to /M/e/c/c/a Freeport tomorrow in order to buy one full price.
At home, we feasted on left-over pasta, asiago cheese foccacia, and sangria, then attacked the dish-monster before it attacked us. After, I baked
kinzel's birthday cake, which is now safely iced and deposited in the cat-free cake keeper, aka, the microwave.
A movie is in order, I think, after such a stressful day...
