rolanni: (greeneyes)

Let me tell you, there's some buyin' going on over the phone lines this season....

[livejournal.com profile] kinzel sprung Patia from the vet's on Wednesday, and she went back in for yet another checkup this morning at o-groan-early. Good news: her temperature remains normal. Bad news: she was -- again! -- dehydrated, and we didn't actually see her eat anything but a mite of baby food off [livejournal.com profile] kinzel's finger in the day she was home. She'd also, not surprisingly, I guess, lost a thought more weight. We've come away with an elixir of Vitamin B, a pill supposed to increase appetite and another appointment for a check-up, on Monday coming. Either the B or the pill is already acting; she's eaten two helpings of baby food since coming home, off the plate, all by herself. We may pull her through yet, but the going's slow.

Somewhen since the last time I posted, Reggie came and fixed the washing machine. And there was much rejoicing.

Dulsey continues with her plans for World Domination, though her efforts are impeded by underfunding and a certain lack of rigor on the part of Staff.

[livejournal.com profile] kinzel is still working to resolve various Issues connected his father's death, all of which is immensely tedious and time-consuming, and which leaves not very much energy for other tasks that need done.

I haven't accomplished any new words, though I hope for better today, after I've gone through the recipient list for Necessary Evils and resolve a bunch of possibly duplicate orders. On the other hand, the galleys for Crystal Dragon have been fine-toothed and returned to the publisher, which must count for something.

It's been raining, and all the snow -- what I had foolishly hoped would be our base snow for the season -- has melted. All the bodies of water in these parts are full to overflow, though I see that the flood watch for the Kennebec has been canceled; the flow at Skowhegan at 4 a.m. a paltry 33273 cfs. Flood stage is 35000 cfs.

I've finished reading Rachel Caine's Windfall, which was smart, enjoyable and just what a tired phone jockey needed. Highly recommended.

I'm officially Tired; there's lots to do today, so I'd better get with the program.
