EMBIID OUT OF ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING
Embiid Electronic Publishing closed its virtual doors on May 31, 2006. The site will stay up until December 31, 2006, so that current customers may download the books from their bookshelves, but no new sales can be made.
Since 2000, Embiid has been Lee and Miller's electronic publisher, and had the rights to 24 chapbooks and novels, most in the Liaden Universe(R). Steps to secure a new electronic publisher are underway, but no new contractual arrangement can be made until the reversion letters have arrived, now projected for sometime in early July.
SCHEDULE SLIPPAGE
Meisha Merlin Publishing has recently changed printers, which has necessitated some schedule alterations. The hardcover and trade paperback reprint of Partners in Necessity, the omnibus edition including Conflict of Honors, Agent of Change and Carpe Diem, originally scheduled to be released this month, has been delayed until "the winter catalog."
Web of the Trident, the sequel to The Tomorrow Log will not be issued in February, as Lee and Miller books have been for the last seven years, but later in the spring of 2007.
Publication dates for the German editions of Agent of Change, Conflict of Honors, and Carpe Diem have not yet been set.
SRM PUBLISHER NEWS
Gunshy, the sequel to Sharon Lee's Maine-based mystery Barnburner, will be published by SRM Publisher in August. Pre-order now by going to the SRM catalog and following the link. Gunshy, like Barnburner, will be in trade paperback format.
Also, watch for Gunshy snippets in the near future!
The second trade paperback collection of Liaden Universe(R) stories -- Liaden Universe(R) Companion Number Two -- is tentatively scheduled for publication in the third quarter of 2007. In the meantime, supplies of LUC #1 are running low. If you've been meaning to order, now is the time!
LEE AND MILLER CONVENTION SCHEDULE
The convention calendar is clear for the rest of 2006, and we have a single convention in our sights thus far for 2007. We have been invited to be guests at NASFiC, the North American Science Fiction Convention, to be held August 2-5, 2007 in Collinsville, Illinois. More information is available at the convention's website.
BEST OF LUCK, PANDEMONIUM BOOKS!
As some you may know, Pandemonium Books has moved from its former Harvard Square location to new digs at 4 Pleasant Street in Central Square. The new store will be opening Wednesday evening, June 7; with the Gala Grand Opening Celebrations scheduled for June 16-18. For more information, check out
pandemonium_bks or their webpage.
