"It's the Bible, you get points for trying."
Monday, July 10th, 2006 05:36 pmA diverse day thus far.
Gym in the morning (the movie being shown is still, or maybe again, The Sound of Music), where I found Charlie Hartman of the late, lamented Iron Horse Bookstore presiding over a table of photographs in various states of being -- matted, large; matted, small; notecards. Since I hadn't seen Charlie in a longLongLONG time, I sat down to have a couple minute chat. The photos are Alec's, she tells me. I remember Alec -- an over-energetic pre-schooler. He's seventeen, now, Charlie says. Ack!
Despite his inexplicable transformation from pre-schooler to high school senior in only one night, Alec's photographs are quite good -- have a look for yourselves.
After gym, I went home again for a quick shower and to collect
kinzel, then back to Waterville to view Cap'n Jack Two, which was exceedingly silly. Alas, it seemed that
kinzel and I were the only people laughing at some of the scenes. It was ever thus. In any case, I had a wonderful time, and the DVD goes on the wishlist now.
Back home again, and it's HOT, with a faint promise of a thunderstorm in the offing.
kinzel is getting ready to go to chess and I -- ought to do some work.
