Vacation's Over

WorldCon's done, and after a long weekend away from the keyboard, what I like to call my brain is almost recovered.

Time to start writing again.

Projects in the hopper:

1. A prologue to go with the synopsis-and-sample-chapters, so Madame the Agent can send the package out.

2. Finish the Surebleak story, tentatively titled "Lord of the Dance," for the SRM Yule chapbook.

3. Finish the first draft of Crystal Dragon by Thanksgiving, so I can swap with kinzel and tackle...

4. ...the second draft of Sword of Orion

Looks like this becomes a Writing Journal for the next while.

Back to Work: Day One

Reread the synopsis and sample chapters. Tweaked the sample chapters some. Wrote 1800 words of prologue, which took longer than it should have because I needed to build the whole dern world in my head so I could choose which bits to Reveal for the readers' titillation. Need to go in tomorrow and put a break point in the synopsis, since Madame the Agent suggests that this is two books as proposed, not one. With luck, everything I wrote today isn't Total Drek and I'll be able to do some polishing and ship the whole new updated package out by Friday.
