Sigh.

So, on CNN this morning, we find Pat Robertson asserting that he had talked with the President about the present war and advised him to prepare the American people for casualties. To which the President answered, "We're not going to have any casualties." Presumably the President had received this information from God, Who, he has reported elsewhere, speaks through him. Robertson, on the other hand, goes on to explain that God had told him that the war was going to be "A, a disaster and B, messy."

I wish God would get Their story straight, here. Is this too much to ask of an omnipotent being?

Frost overnight; the car's warming up for the trip to town for the gym thing, and then a run out to the post office.

Yesterday afternoon...didn't quite turn out the way I'd anticipated.

I did make a Crystal Soldier flyer for inclusion in SRM orders. It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself, and the pale blue logic tiles watermark is tres classy.

I also set the two cheese bread into motion. Alas, I missed some vital part of the instructions, or else offended the Ghods of Breadmaking by baking two days in a row. In either case, a disaster.

Writing was going well -- until multiply interrupted by the necessities of Patia-cat, who can stand in the doorway and hit the same two irritating notes over and over and over again until she's fed or Hell freezes over, whichever comes first. Took care of that detail, returned to the writing, and the phone rang. An expected call which had to be taken, dernit. By the time we finished up there it was late and my head was so completely Someplace Else that I just threw in the towel, met [livejournal.com profile] kinzel for the evening meal, read the October 19 entry in ...Lonesome October and so to bed.

Pretty out there in the Big World today. I was glad of the run to the post office. The view from the ridge road was approximately to Manchuria. To balance that, the post office box was empty and the newspaper reports that we're still going to be losing half our local hospital, after we'd gone and thought everything was all straightened out, and the nonesense about consolidating with Augusta General and putting the brand new facility in Sidney where it would be neither convenient nor accessible for anybody, and the director's mom helpfully selling land she Just Happened to Have in Sidney to the new hospital for a bazillion bucks was all put away.

Pfui.

Have a note here from Madame the Agent that we might want to be writing 50 or so pages of Something Else in our spare time. Wonderful sense of humor, that woman.

Scrabble decided that it looked Nice! and Soft! at the top of the closet, there among the spare quilt and the extra pillows. [Insert Big Noise and lots of Stuff on the floor here] Honest to ghod, she weighs six pounds, the smallest animal in this house, including a good many of the plushies, and she's got the destructive impetus of Lex Luther.

Awful cute, though.
