Wednesday, Max! became very ill and was rushed to the vet's, where he was poked, prodded, hydrated, Observed and Analyzed. The outcome of It All being that the dosage for the thyroid medicine has been cut in half. He was released to home care with an appointment for first thing Thursday morning.

He did seem to be markedly better Wednesday night -- more alert than he's been in many a day. The doctor had mentioned that sometimes, when a cat gets dehydrated, just bringing up their water levels can do wonders.

Thursday morning, brightandearly, [livejournal.com profile] kinzel put Max! into the cat carrier and I took him down to his appointment ([livejournal.com profile] kinzel remaining at home to wait for a promised FedEx package, which never, as it happened, arrived). More poking and prodding, but no need for hydration via BFMI. We're to keep a close eye on him in case the reduced dosage goes bad on him, and we're also to induce him to drink. This was never a problem before, Max! being a Siamese/Camel cross. We're thinking wet food with a sprinkle of salt on it. Zoinks, his favorite foodstuff, are salty, but cat does not live by Zoinks alone...

Everyone's seen MacHall's comic this week, right?

If not, take a look.

And there was much rejoicing.

Among other things.
