Ocean Music
Sunday, April 10th, 2005 09:02 pmWe saw Janis Ian perform at Kennebunk Town Hall last night -- a first for me, as I may have said. We were doubly fortunate in being able to spend some time with Janis before and after the show, and with Nancy Cobb and Kurt Siegel, Schenectady area SF fans who made the concert part of a long-weekend-spring-drive. There were about 200 people in a packed house; the acoustics of the room were perfect; and I haven't had so much fun in a really long time.
After, we returned to our ocean front motel room and went to sleep with the sound of the surf to soothe us.
I'm still processing the concert -- Janis does an amazing show; just her and two guitars. She has a voice that can fill worlds. If she comes to a house near you -- or even half a day's drive away from you -- go.
