Taking a break
Thursday, June 22nd, 2006 05:58 pmStarted on the revisions today -- with miles to go before I sleep. It turns out that Chapter Nineteen -- you remember Chapter Nineteen, don't you, Tonto? -- is Highly Condensed, one might even say zipped. So it has become my challenge and my duty to unzip this chapter, laying out all the hints, allegations and off-screen actions right there on the table where everybody can see them, rather than just the Author and the two other people in the universe who Know What She Meant. Also, the timing -- as in which day are we on now, and how does Jen's shift at the paper relate to that? -- is off, so I need to do a timeline. Of course, I need to do a timeline, I always need to do a timeline. What is this linear storytelling of which you speak? Sigh.
In between ripping seams and getting the glue gun ready, I designed and printed a Cat Whisker Collector certificate Suitable for Framing, and a membership card, and got them into an envelope. I know that it says on catwhisker.net that you, too, can be a Registered Cat Whisker Collector by simply sending ten bucks in small unmarked bills to Rolanni at the SRM address -- it's been saying that for years -- but this is the first time anyone has actually taken up me up on the prospect. It'll be another six years before anyone else comes forward, but I'm ready for 'em now.
...and that was the bell. Back to work, me.
