In a rare public appearance...
Haven't been around much lately, for which I'm sorry; lots on the plate at the moment -- and for the foreseeable future.
Today's mail brought Wonders and Marvels, among them a box containing Office Clothes. Experimentation reveals that everything fits, which is good, and Feel Nice, which is even better.
I'm also glad that they've arrived a bit beforetime, so I can get used to them. What with one thing and a freelance, I haven't actually owned Office Clothes since 1991.
The other noteworthy piece of mail is a postcard from one David Guzikowski, Author Relations Coordinator for Dorrance Publishing Company, addressed to "Lee & Miller", and letting us know that one of his "researchers" has discovered our "manuscript registration" with the Library of Congress and has suggested us as perhaps being worthy of publication. He invites us to call him, toll-free; to mail or email our complete manuscript to him, or, if said manuscript is less than 50 pages long, to fax it to his attention.
I'm...gobsmacked -- yes, that's the word -- gobsmacked by Mr. Guzikowski's consideration.
Sheesh.
In other news, I've been having some Truly Weird Dreams lately --
autopope, I have the autokey to your transatlantic limousine. The driver asked me to give it to you at the banquet, but there was such a crush I never found you -- which may be related to the upcoming change of estate, or to the on-going challenge of rolling enough sevens to stay out of trouble. Or maybe it's the phase of the moon.
It would appear that the RSS feed to/from/generated by the Fledgling page is...not going to happen. Lack of brain power coupled with too many tasks in queue, sigh. I'm 'way behind the curve even on CSS. So much esoterica, so little time...
Also? To the nice man who called me yesterday afternoon: The way to decrease your karmic load is not by asking the person trying to help you despite the fact that you are unprepared and abrupt to "find someone smarter" to assist you. Just sayin'.
...off to the end-of-calendar-year accounting, me. Today's special treat -- W-2's and 1099-misc.
