Ace Cancels Re-Issue of Liaden Universe® Mass Market Paperbacks
Late last year, Ace proposed an ambitious program of re-issuing the first ten Liaden Universe(R) novels in mass market paperback. In November, Agent of Change was reissued, followed by Conflict of Honors, in December. No more books will be forthcoming, however. According to Ginjer Buchanan, the chain store orders were not sufficient to support further reprints.

Remember! All of the Liaden Universe® novels are available electronically from Baen Webscriptions. For those who prefer dead-tree, SRM Publisher does have SOME of the Ace mass market paperbacks in inventory. Eidolon Pre-Orders Have Been Shipped

If you forgot to pre-order, Eidolon is now available on the SRM Publisher online catalog.

Saltation Declared a Draft
On December 31, 2008, the authors declared a draft, after posting chapter 39 of Saltation. There are currently 246 books left for pre-order. As from the start, a contribution of $25 or more entitles the donor to a signed copy of the Baen edition of the book, when it is published. The best guess we have for a publication date is sometime in the summer of 2010.

There are also a few copies of Fledgling available for pre-order. Please write to fledglingATkorval.com* for more information. Fledgling is scheduled to be published by Baen Books on September 8, 2009. Donors will receive signed copies via USPS directly from the authors, in appreciation of their support of the project.

In Other Fledgling News
Toni Weisskopf at Baen has said that an e-arc of Fledgling will be available in late March or early April. When the e-arc goes on sale, the rough draft at the Fledgling website will no longer be available.

Wow, that's a lotta action for 50 pages

So, what I've been doing today, around infodumps, laundry and cat-skritching, is making a timeline, sort of, of the last eight chapters of Scout's Progress. I must say that we managed to squeeze a lot into those last few pages. Happily, because things were moving so fast, we left a bunch of details unmentioned. Now, we get to mention them. At least, some of them.

*rubs hands together*

This is gonna be fun.
