Word is that Baker & Taylor sent the mass markets of Duainfey to the bookstores without an embargo notice. Y'all know what that means, right?

Right! Early release party!

We are Reliably Informed that Constellation Books in Reisterstown, Maryland has Duainfey in hand. Amazon.com has it, including one doughty fellow selling a "used" copy for $9.40 -- roughly a buck-forty more than a new copy, which his is, unless he reads really fast. Check your favorite local and/or indie bookstore; chances are they have it, too!

Not much to report -- see Writing Day. I did not, alas, get as much writing done as I had supposed I would, in part because I needed to knock off for a nap, due to Not Having Slept At All Well last night. I hope I've headed off the incipient headache. Time will tell there, I guess.

Steve fell prey to a, blessedly brief, bout of con crud at Boskone, and had to miss two of his panels today. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] batwrangler for helping us get Ops notified so that another panelist could be deployed. I do so love the internet. Where else could we have a scene where Person A is sick in Hotel Faraway and has no means to contact Con Ops, 'way down in the basement, that he will not be attending his panel. He IMs Person B, in Maine, who sends an email into a mailing list, asking for help. Help arrives by return email. Truly, the future is a strange place.

So, I'm knocking off for a while, if not for the evening. We'll see how the head goes. I may just take a shower and curl up in bed with a book. That's sounds...pleasant.

Hoping y'all are having/have had a pleasant day, wherever you are.

Had a phone call from a friend, twitchy about end-of-week medical tests and the necessity to wait upon the doctors who can read the results. Which means no answers until Monday, earliest. Listened, mostly, and made Soothing Noises. Have I mentioned that I Totally Suck at making Soothing Noises?

So, anyway, since I had a headache anyway, I fetched a glass of wine back to the keyboard and caught up the Saltation database.

As of this writing, right now!, we have placed 997 copies of Saltation. That's only 203 still needing homes. Don't be the last on your block to adopt!

There are still a (very) few copies of Fledgling looking for a home. If you'd like to adopt your very own signed copy, drop me an email at fledgling AT korval.com*

On the Fledgling front -- remember! Baen will be posting the e-arc of the rewritten Fledgling in late March/early April. As soon as that e-Arc goes up, the Fledgling first draft? Comes down.

Guess I'd better go get something to eat...
