Today saw the hummingbird feeders cleaned and refilled and a cake baked in honor of [livejournal.com profile] kinzel's natal day, tomorrow. Cats have been tortured in the name of, well, Cat Torture, and the soundtrack for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has been deeply enjoyed.

I searched out and packed up various odds and ends that I'll need tomorrow evening, such as a flashlight to light my way from the front door to the employee parking lot way, waaaaaay back beyond the pine trees; a book, to read on my lunch break and also during slow times, if any.

Choosing a book to take to work is a tricky matter. You want something that will keep your interest without compelling you to read on; something that's entertaining without being dense. I finally settled on Murder with Peacocks as suitable, though I may soon be reduced to Captains Courageous, and re-reading Georgette Heyer.

Revision has gone forth on Carousel Tides, and I am pleased to announce that I have now passed the half-way point. And there was much rejoicing! Next up: several chapters of new material, which I've outlined in as much detail as I'm able so they shouldn't be too time-consuming. Always supposing that none of the main characters decides to go off on (another) tangent.

And now, ladies and gentlemen -- it's time for lunch.
