The Still Nameless is completed in first draft, weighing in at 9,834 words, which means 1,780 on the day. Not counting the ones that were broken and had to be removed.

I hope that Certain Characters are very happy (she said ironically).

I'm outta here.

I _was_ going to toss in a comment about "whitebread" people, but reason prevailed. Put your own spin on it.

Not for awhile, alas.

The ending is not as strong as I'd like it to be, and I'm thinking there's a scene missing. This, however, is Mere Revision. As Mere Revision of a story that neither has a home nor is likely to find one, it needs to wait on pay copy. Jela Two, for instance. What will probably happen, judging from experience, is when/if I hit a knotty spot in Jela Two, the backbrain will blandish the very things I need to fix the story so I'll lay off flogging it for the novel.

Tricky things, backbrains.
