Winter has descended suddenly here in Michigan too, with freezing rain and/or drizzle interspersed with rain or sleet for the past few days. I've gotten to chisel the ice off my car windows 3 mornings in a row now, and on Saturday I almost had to climb into the car from the passenger side, since the drivers side door didn't want to open.
Got to dodge a couple of small tree branches in the road on the way to work today, and passed one spot where they'd obviously just finished clearing something larger with a chainsaw. Only one of the traffic lights on my route was out of comission, and both home and work still have power so far.
