Second Bundle Available from Baen

Phase Change is on sale now from Baen -- a whole day early!

Saw it . . . snagged it. I think I buy more e-books than paper books these days; there's something about being able to hold in the palm of my hand a supply of reading that would normally require an extra tote bag to carry.

I think I passed the "extra tote bag" stage a while ago and wonder when I'll reach the "horse drawn cart" level; my SD card has passed the 200 book mark, and some of those are omnibus editions or books thick enough that they might as well be. (I'm looking at you, Neal "tree killer" Stephenson.)

I did, of course, pick up the second Liaden Universe bundle now that I know it's posted.

Thanks, snagged it.

Are all of the books still available in dead tree format? A friend (who doesn't do e-books) was asking the other day because bookstores (including Amazon) only seem to have the recent ones.

Let's see...

The Partners in Necessity omnibus from Meisha Merlin is in print, as is Plan B (which is not easy to find on Amazon because someone has screwed up the listing and I don't have time to unscrew it right now. argh.). I Dare was scheduled for reprinting in September of 2007.

I do believe that MM has allowed Pilots Choice to go out of print, and I haven't heard of any plans to reprint. None of the Ace editions of the Agent of Change sequence are currently in print.

About dead-tree editions...

Ask the genre shops ... if you need particular books, please check in if you can't find them elsewhere. A number of SF/genre retailers and convention dealers -- Pandemonium Books, Uncle Hugos, The Missing Volume, Larry Smith books, Borderlands and elsewhere -- have always tried to keep our books in stock, they may have books that we don't. Ask the genre shops first.

Also...some of the books are available direct from us through SRM Publisher -- we have, for example, a little over a case of Plan B hardcovers (signed) that we're selling direct at $25 ($30 cover price) ... and we have a few of the Ace editions as well, at cover price.

But first -- ask the genre shops. They helped keep Liaden Universe material available when Del Rey left us in the lurch ... give them a break if you can.

Is there a list anywhere of genre shops you know about/have dealt with/would recommend?

How to phrase this ....

Um.

At the moment, if you want to be certain that your money supports the authors, the best thing would to buy directly from us.

The next best thing is to support the genre shops (at this point, we-the-authors are not likely to see any royalties from bookstore sales).

Genre shops we know and love:

Uncle Hugo's (http://www.unclehugo.com/)
University Bookstore (http://www.bookstore.washington.edu/services.taf?dept=about&category=locations&par=services&ttl=locations&page=1)
Pandemonium Books (http://www.pandemoniumbooks.com/)
Missing Volume (http://www.themissingvolume.com/)
Borderlands (http://www.borderlands-books.com/)
Dream Haven (http://www.dreamhavenbooks.com/)
Flights of Fantasy (http://www.fof.net/)

All of these folks do mail order and take want lists

At conventions:
Larry Smith, Bookseller
Zane Meader

I will definitely buy from SRM then, but thanx for the list.
