The numbers are in.

[personal profile] kinzel   estimates that the total cost of this Wild Atlantean Adventure will be on the order of $1500. In order to try to offset some of this cost, we -- that's Sharon Lee and Steve Miller -- are offering to those interested a copy of the September 2006 printing of Partners in Necessity (including Conflict of Honors, Agent of Change, and Carpe Diem) for $30 postpaid (overseas folks, please add $5 postage -- I hate to ask, but it's a HUGE book).

We will sign each book and add an inscription commemorating the Atlanta Road Trip, April 2007.

We will begin accepting orders now via PayPal to rolanniATkorval.com (replace AT with @). Those who wish to pay by check or money order, please send to Sharon Lee and Steve Miller, PO Box 179, Unity Maine 04988. Please put  Road Trip Special in the Note field.

I'll continue to accept orders until Steve is home.

I wish I could help here but between taxes and other $$ issues I can't shake loose the money. I did want to let you know I posted about the special in my lj. Hopefully one of the many friends I've been trying to get into reading your books will be able to take advantage of the special.

Oh good! My copies of the original three seem to disappear on a regular basis. I keep having to go to Uncle Hugo's and pray that someone else gave up their treasure.

"This? Is my copy. Those? Those are loaner copies. Do not touch my copy."

Believe me, I totally understand about $$ issues.

I did want to let you know I posted about the special in my lj.

That's great! Thank you.

I still have my original three Del Rey copies.

Someone can borrow those when he or she pries them from my cold, dead hands. Srsly.

Shiny! I've been thinking about getting a paper copy since I read the one I got through Baen Webscriptions. I hope you get enough orders to make a dent in the trip costs.

Done, and done.

I've been needing a new copy for my shelf. Thanks. BTW, thanks also for Fledgling and the two sets you've released through Webscriptions (ebooks). Love your work and I'll keep on reading as long as you keep writing Korval stories. Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing another in the "Master's Walk" universe.

er, hardcover or paperback? Not that I won't probably order one anyway, once I have my taxes done and am feeling briefly flush (the lovely thing about being a Very Poor Student is you get to squeeze back out of Uncle Sam darned near everything he's squeezed out of you in the past year. Thanks to some arcane New York State rules, I got back MORE from them last year then I'd paid.) but enquiring minds want to know. (or is that inquiring? hmmm....)

Glad to help

Considering the Bad Thing, and that the Bad Thing and the trip are probably related, I'm hoping that lots of your readers and fans contribute, considering the many hours of pleasure you have given us.

Now I can feel free to share my other copies without feeling the need to put a LoJack on them!

Thanks.

Very sorry to hear of Bad Thing but pleased to be able to order a copy to use as convalescent reading next month - I've misplaced or loaned out my previous copies.

Email one us, oh, around the middle of next week. There will definitely be Plan B's coming up from Georgia. I'm not certain about I Dare, but it could be we'll have some of those, too...

Trade paper. I don't think there are any new hardcover PiNs available on the planet at a price-affordable-by-real-people, though I suppose anything's possible. We'll know for sure when the truck and Steve and back home...

Congratulations on getting $$ back from the Tax Man!

Sorry to hear about the bad thing and the details from other sources. Hope Kinzel have a quiet return trip.

If Rolanni & Kinzel have a few hardcover PiN copies available. Then the road trip expenses can be cover by about half a dozen copies. The current Amazon price for a mint condition new PiN hardcover is an astronomical $325! I guess a personalized copy will fetch more. Sadly, don't think there is more than a handful of PiN hardcovers not already in the grubby hands of a Liadan fan.

Foolishly, I didn't get the hardcovers for PiN and Plan B when they were available. Hopefully a Plan B hardcover will became available soon from Rolanni and Kinzel.

Burton, we do have some hardcover Plan B. We won't know for a bit if there are any hardcover PiNs in the load of books [livejournal.com profile] kinzel is picking up, but if you want me to set a Plan B aside for you, just drop me a note.

Forgot to mention yesterday--I dropped a little money in the Trip Jar. Best wishes for a safe trip for [livejournal.com profile] kinzel, and fewer Bad Things in your future.

Also? The Fledgling Project is made of win.

Ooooh! I live in New Zealand, I should have mentioned that in my first post.

Is that an issue?

We often mail books to New Zealand. All we need to do is figure out which books you want, how much they weigh, how quickly you need them, and how much the postage is.

We can handle this :)

Road trip and NASFIC

Glad to hear that the race against the Northeaster is safely done. I read somewhere here that NASFIC is in doubt for you, which would be sad, so I added a little money to the trip jar. I was thinking of going, since you and P.C. Hodgell and other great authors were going to be there...

Hope everyone contributes something and Good Things start to happen.

And Fledgling is a constant pleasure. I'm so glad you're doing it and that SRM publishers exists so it can be printed and in the greedy little hands of fans like me...

Thank you!

NASFiC is receding rapidly, I fear. The Georgia run was far more expensive than we had expected, but, hey -- Steve is home and now at least we've put one Looming Uncertainty to bed.

I was thinking of going, since you and P.C. Hodgell and other great authors were going to be there...

Pat Hodgell is a very nice lady and she's always happy to meet readers. And really, don't stay away just because we may not make it; there will be lots of cool people to talk to, interesting panels -- not to mention the dealer's room and art show...

Is the offer still open?

From: [identity profile] rasmusb.livejournal.com
I just read about this offer on the Baen Bar -- if this is still an option -- I'll stop by the bank to cut a money order in US funds. (I'm assuming Canada would still qualify for the $5 shipping charge -- although technically no seas are involved?) :)

The offer is still open. Canada usually doesn't cost much-if-any-extra for postage (heck, depending on where you are in Canada, we might be able to throw it to you).

Well I'm in Alberta (a small city outside of Edmonton) -- probably not in chucking distance. :)

I'll just include it just-in-case. :)

The money order was sent April 21/22 -- I was just having a small attack of paranoia -- if you can't read the return address just let me know. :D

(Currently regretting not registering the letter. Apparently even my paranoia tends to procrastinate -- I'm worring about this now?) ;p

Please excuse the anonymous message below (already sent to your inbox) -- I had forgotten to log in (linking from hotmail while at work is a no-no).

Have I completely muddled everything? (Just to be paranoid in a timely manner -- I have sent you a money order for $35 US around April 21/22. Hopefully it hasn't gone elsewhere and you have/will receive it soon. If my return address is unreadable -- please let me know.

Sorry! Thanks!

The letter got here on May 5, and the package left Maine for the Fort today, so you should have it soon. For some value of 'soon', which appears to be just about two weeks, if the travel-time on the letter is any measure.

No need to be paranoid yet, I think...
