You know your professional organization is well and truly in the tank when your doctor tells you how many SFWA members it takes to change a light bulb.

And giggles.

In other news, the thyroid meds need to be tweaked. One had suspected as much.

[livejournal.com profile] kinzel has located the house in which we shall spend our Golden (actually, I'm thinking we're going to have to go Platinum) Years. Be sure to look at the slide show.

Oh. And it snowed. All day. And in fact is still snowing. I neglected to go in to the day-job, which was a good call, I think. When Steve and I went out at 2:30 to excavate the cars, snow on the ground was at eight inches, and rising.

Hope everybody's safe and warm.

So, how many SFWA members does it take to change a light bulb? You've got me curious now ...

What do you want to change it into?

That would have been our snow, but we decided to share. :D
Of the 5" to 9" we were supposed to get, we got maybe 3"-5". And no sleet.

Jeez! I'd buy the house for the kitchen alone. And the views and ...
Although you'd think at that price that you wouldn't be looking into your neighbor's windows. Guess I'll have to try to win the lottery after all.

According to my physician's source (http://pbackwriter.blogspot.com/2007/12/industry-bulb-jokes.html): 135.

See, I was thinking two: one to change the lightbulb, and one to file the DMCA report against the neighbors who are all lighting their houses too ...

Yeah, how many?

Hunnert thirty-five. There's a list (http://pbackwriter.blogspot.com/2007/12/industry-bulb-jokes.html).

Thyroid meds, more or less?

More.

This morning, we have a tentative call on the deck of 15 inches -- this is after Steve cleared it of the 8 accumulated inches of white stuff last evening.

'Course, it's pretty fluffy and blowing around a lot...

The kitchen is pretty, but I wouldn't do it justice. The views -- yeah.

Sigh.

Sigh -- a little bit of a walk from the one everyone is admiring is this one:

http://www.newenglandmoves.com/viewDetails.nem?GLID=1010968481
which isn't really in our bracket either, but has possibilities... what a spot for an on-going workshop house!

and this one, which probably needs an architect and someone with an idea ...
http://www.patryfamilyrealty.com/listing/59987546
Needs work -- and a walk to the beach -- but gee...

and since the assessor has been by that means in April or May we'll get an idea of what the house we're in is supposedly worth. Somehow I doubt we'll be able to arrange a "trade-in" deal though I hear some markets have reached that point....

The first doesn't do much for me. Not sure why. It seems dark and the kitchen..... Not big enough.

The second is lovely, although I worry when they don't show you any interior shots. Still, in this part of the country, that is a great price for a house that size (assuming it isn't completely trashed inside.) I love the wraparound porch.

Are you familiar with the Old Bailey on Line site: transcriptions of records of Ole Bailey trials from the 17th century on. Some of the accounts are pretty detailed. They post a trial of the day. I've found it rather addictive.
