Where to begin?

My camera died. I was taking perfectly nice pictures of a train using the roundhouse in Belfast, and everything was wonderful -- even got the pictures off the disk. But when I tried to turn the camera on later in the day -- nothing happened. I thought "dead batteries," of course and bought new while in town today, changed them out -- still nothing. Arrrrrggggghhhhh! Have I mentioned that I really, really, REALLY like this camera? Olympus says they'll take a look at it for $160, no promises. Sigh.

I'm down to the last hundred pages of read-and-red-pen for _Crystal Soldier_ and [livejournal.com profile] kinzel has finished his go-through. A Perfectly Revised Manuscript will be emailed to the publisher by the end of the week. Right.

Got a line on one story for the SRM Yule Chapbook -- looking like a Surebleak story. Don't yet know what we'll do for the second. I'm glad to have the one settled, though; I can work on that in between things at WorldCon. For some reason, I find it easier to work on shorter stuff when I'm not at home.

Tomorrow, the truck needs to go into for its annual state inspection; and groceries must be had or else we'll be at the point of eating cats. Mozart might be good for a meal or two but Scrabble's hardly a snack...

This may help if there is a firmware/settings problem, it worked for one of my digitals...take the battery out, leave it out, take the flash memory out. Leave the battery out for a day or so. When it was re-energized, it had defaulted to factory settings, but it worked (and continued working, now for my mom).

I don't know what model you have, but for $160, I could replace my Nikon 4300 (4MP) on Ebay.

Heh. Just dropped some low bids on 775s and 2100s, I rarely win, but every now and then I pick up one of these for a pittance and send it off to a remote friend who I want pictures from.

Good luck with resurrecting your camera.

I'm glad you couldn't hear the squeal I made when I read that. I want, want, want, another Surebleak story!

Sorry about the camera. I hope trolleypup's reboot works for you.
