Tide's in

...Dragon Tide, that is. We have a lot of signing and packing to do. Steve hopes to have the first orders into the mail this weekend. We know -- and thank you! -- for your patience, and ask that you be patient just a Little While longer; we have more than 500 pre-orders to pack and mail.

You guys are the best!

Friends of Theo Waitley: Watch the skies for Very Interesting Announcement this weekend.

At the day-job, the in-person part of the training was swell. The computerized tutorials I have for dessert are -- Totally Aggravating. Sigh. I loathe computerized tutorials, have I said?

And! The new bag -- did I mention the new bag? -- arrived. It is purple and it handily holds all the stuff I usually carried in my purse and a totebag. I think I'm in love. Here's a picture.

While I was over at ebags, I also bought a jewelery roll. I feel so grown-up! To this point, when I traveled, I just dumped whatever jewelery I thought I might need into a small round tin lined with felt. This is my Very First Jewelery Roll and I can scarcely wait for Boskone so I have a chance to use it.

A felt-lined tin sounds a step up from my usual ZipLock Sandwich Bag!

Good sack, too.

Nice bag! One concern, as it is characterized as 'urban', and is worn on the back: pickpockets? Can the outside zips be secured in any way. I'd be wary in a train station or buss depot if it was in any way crowded.

I could be wrong, but I think Maine is still far from the madding crowd?

I've seen people wearing backpacks as frontpacks when the crowding rises (in Europe - Japan still has amazingly little crime).

Where I usually hang out, the likelihood of pickpockets is...low. There is a way to lock the zippers together, which I will do before I get on a train. Also, the Really Important Stuff stores in less accessible places, according to the Baltimore Rule for Packing One's Purse: Be sure you can afford to lose whatever you put in the outside pocket.
