kinzel -- a Minolta Dimage Z1 with a 4X digital and a 10X optical zoom. It takes rapid-fire pictures, it makes videos -- with sound! -- it does other as yet undiscovered things of ilk and amazement! It weighs, like, fifteen ounces, mit batteries. I'm ...stonkered.
After all the excitement of the arrival, the exclamations, try-out pics (check out the new icon!(assuming I can get LJ to admit that I have any icons)), it was a bit difficult to get down to cases. However.
Research was done -- it's scary that there's so much in the Liaden Universe canon now that I feel a need to "fact-check" where previously I would have just jumped head first into the story du jour (which doubtless explains a lot, stories du jour being most commonly served in shallow bowls). Unfortunately, research took a bit longer than anticipated, because I got to reading along after I'd found my answers (it's terrible when a writer reads her own stuff). But anyway.
Writing happened; feeling my way a bit at the moment, so not so many Actual Words as I'd have liked, but Words nonetheless.
Errands tomorrow, then More Words, and time spent discovering Neat Stuff about my new camera.
