I know I met you before this, but my first memory of you is when you asked me for an opinion on a yet unpublished short story of your own. I had not yet read any of your joint efforts with Kinzel. The story disturbed me and stuck with me. I hesitated to read any of the Liaden books, because I expected them to be in a similarly dark tone. I still have disturbing dreams about it. I guess that means that you did your job well,eh?
When I finally did read the rest of your works, I became instantly addicted. I love and hate you for that. Addictions, even to good things, are inconvenient. Thanks for ALL the memories!
