I went to a party this weekend where many people dressed up in costumes. One woman came in a pretty blue dress and a black headband, with her hair straight down behind the band. Her shoes were sensible. She was asked many times if she was Alice from Wonderland. No, indeed.

She was the classic Nancy Drew.

This one's not comedy, but it's funny... elephants ambling through the reception area of the Mfuwe Lodge in Zambia. It seems they built between the elephants and the mango trees. When the mangos are ripe, the elephants come right on through.

I'm currently using one of them as my wallpaper :o)

My Mom

Hi -

One time, my mother, who passed away in 1997, asked my to describe her - I don't recall why she asked, but one of her favorite sayings was "Weird mothers are more fun!" So I told her, to her face, that she was ditzy. My mother, who was not the most literate person in the world, didn't know what the word meant, so I looked it up for her in the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.

The definition read: "One who is affably foolish; foolish in a friendly way . . ."

My mother listened to this, thought for a few seconds, and nodded her head and said, "Sounds about right to me."
