I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has a cat who can open the pantry!

The moment I found the cat food back open with scattered kibble and little kitten teeth-marks on the chewed plastic I went out and bought a couple child safety straps (the kind that buckle - I tried to find an accurate pic, but I couldn't find one. Leave it to me to pick one that's going out of production!), AFTER duct-taping the cabinet shut.

Not quite the one I have (http://shop.parents.com/product/view-all-safety/2427/adjustable-locking-strap.html) but close enough!

I put one on the pantry door, and one on the cupboard beneath the sink that has all the chemicals and smelly things under. Four cats (I know, but I can explain) and I've never had this problem with any of them. Now we have the Little Black Cat, and she's now responsible for making life really really interesting.

"Interesting" in the "how is it possible for a cat to *do* that?!" kind of way.

To quote a strip from Get Fuzzy (http://comics.com/get_fuzzy/)...you never have to ask "who" in this house...only "when".
