My cat will actually bring me her favorite-toy-of-the-moment and politely request that I toss it so she can chase it. She'll do that five or six times in a row. But what really scared me was when she would jump up on the side table where I kept the laser pointer, and start nudging it toward me, with an unmistakeable request to make the little red bug come out to play....
