It's a Japanese movie -- kid's anime -- a bit older. I know there are English translations.
When I read your posting, it reminded me.
One of the scenes has Tottoro and friends helping a garden grow. For some reason, I think we're clustered around, marching, raising our hands, uuuurging.... and the little leaves come popping up! And once more.... pop, pop, pop!
