rolanniNot sure how to express -- or feel -- progress on this bit. I've gone through about twenty pages of Crystal Dragon, tweaking, tightening, rewriting, removing. I don't think I'm losing much wordage overall, not that that's an issue at this point in the proceedings. More slogging tomorrow and hopefully the last on Wednesday. By the time this part's over, I'll really be looking forward to Actually Writing.
Apropos of nothing that I'm working on, came across a cool word: ostiary. Oooh, look! Shiny!

In the meantime, a Terrible Thing is about to occur -- the local arts theater will be showing "Hero" starting Friday night. I really want to see this movie, but Mr. Budget is not cooperating. The checkbook is undernourished again, and the property tax bill is sitting over there on the work table, glowering at me. Also, the car is due for its inspection and new tags/excise tax. I hate having to chose between eating and paying taxes.
Time to get off this infernal machine and feed the cats.
