Also, I have a short essay to write.

If Ambition Strikes, I may clean the bathroom *shudder*. Plainly, this stopping everything in order to write is not the Best Plan. OTOH, neither is allowing Everything to interrupt the writing.

The E, R, and T are rubbed out on my keyboard; U, I, H, and G are starting to go. Good thing I'm a touch typist...

I see that Westercon has hit upon the happy plan of combining itself with the 2010 NASFiC -- less than a month out from the vote -- in a self-described stealth/sprint bid. Too bad, I've already voted.

Another beautiful day, and only a 40% chance of rain in the forecast. I think I'll separate the filing along the top of the new bookcases, so I can look out the window while I work. *sigh* I really like my new office.

Edited to add: The auction for the Agent of Change manuscript papers is going great guns. Have a look, here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320394084053&viewitem=&salenotsupported

I wonder

This particular part of the eBay listing intrigues me.

"and includes a prologue later excised during editing."

Was this edited out because it made the story "better" or "shorter"?

Or considering the time that's lapsed from the original event; is that an unfair question?

If "shorter" is the answer is it available for reading anyplace else? (Not counting the auction because I just have no money available to bid.)

If not, possibly it could be included in a future chap book.

The prologue (a matter of a page-and-a-half, double-spaced) was an afterthought on our part -- and not a good one. The book is much stronger with it removed; I'd even forgotten that we'd written a prologue, to tell you the truth.
