I had the shots 4 weeks ago. The first shot hurt, but not to the point of screaming. After that the shots did not hurt. There were no lumps in my knee. Of course my knee was probably a quart or 2 low. I have noticed some improvement, but still have pain. I think replacement is in my future. Tisha
