Yeah, that made me happy, too.

cephalopods are my friends!
I think it's in Blue Marble or Blue Planet or one of the many David Attenborough narrated ocean specials, they show an octopus carrying around a beer bottle that it then sleeps in. King of the road, indeed.

Your not going to quote, Tie me Kangaroo Down, Sport tomorrow, are you?

*cheers*

Today's not over, yet.

Not from Blue Planet, but here's a youtube of an octopus emerging from a beer bottle. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT97tS_XeaU) You gotta love the chromatophores doing their camouflage thing.

That was impressive, but not as impressive as the one following the first octopus clapping the shells together to make the sound of hoof beats.

I got this link earlier today via Twitter and loved it; keeping a tab open so the husband can see it when he gets home. So cool.

Octopi are spooky because they can squish down into tiny things and look at you with their horrible eye. If the aliens look like octopi I'm not having any.

Speaking of odd behavior, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of reading Fledgling/Saltation/Fledgling/Fledgling draft/Scout's Progress/Saltation/Fledgling/Saltation rinse and repeat for the past two weeks. I'm going to try to take a break and head over to visit Val Con and Miri, but any news on when webscriptions will have the e-arc for Saltation? (It will at least add another flavor to the cycle until Mouse and Dragon...)

Well, I should read Balance of Trade and visit Cantra again too...

Wonderful!

Thanks for the post!

(Even if I could eat shellfish, I wouldn't eat octopi or squid -- too intelligent.)

SO ADORABLE. That video made me smile (and giggle).

LOL! The one running away is hysterical!

I saw a science program not too long ago in which the scientists couldn't figure out how the fish from one tank kept disappearing... until they installed a camera and watched the octopus crawl out of his tank, across the room and into the fish tank, eat dinner and then crawl back, pulling the lid back onto the fish and then his own tank.

No phone, no pool, no pets

Apropos of nothing in particular, but today's Questionable Content made me laugh, since the title made me see Theo in a whole new light: http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1557

(now I want to see Korval's shield with the dragon replaced by a Roomba with a jetpack)

[identity profile] keristor.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, is that a Roomba? I've never seen one. Yes, the title made me giggle when I saw it as well.

Don't worry until you see a video of an octopus smoking old stogies it has found...

Highly interesting!

I just love the bit where s/he gets into the bottom & pulls the roof down over his/her head - you can just hear him singing "I've got a loverly bunch of coconuts"... gorgeous.
