. . .but it needed to be done, anyway. For those who indulge -- the second sample chapter has gone live here

Cookbooks and pointers noted -- thank you!

Oh, and I forgot to mention (mea culpa, oh Gods of Chance and Mischance): This past week I was extraordinarily lucky. I usually never win anything (well, OK. Once I won a free entry into a golf tournament. Trouble being, I don't play golf), but this week alone, I won a debit card (with, yanno, money on it) and a gift certificate to our local organic grocery store! Not only did I win two things, but they're both useful. How totally awesome is that?

And!

Back to the to-do list.

Totally off-topic

Thank you, thank you for the books. They arrived earlier this week, I immediately sat down to read Plan B - which I never had before, followed by I, Dare. The reason I'm writing, the description of Jela as given by Nelirik reminds me of my favorite character in a Finn MacCool story - Èirig Fhinn (aka "Finn's reparation" or "Finn's revenge"). The character is never called by name, simply referred to as fear beag ìosal lapanach - the wee little stalwart man, but he fights off two armies, bests four giants and in the end attains Finn's reparation ... AFTER being abandoned on an enemy island by Finn and his men. (He also gets the girl.)

From now on, when I read the story, I'm gonna be thinking his name as Jela.

also, I am very much enjoying re-reading the books. Thank you again.

I once won a six pack of 2-stroke motor oil. My Dad loved that.

What great gifts! I'd be happy with something like that, too!
