Doin’ it right, ackshually

This just in from the ISP of yesterday’s offending website:

This account has been terminated for violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. All hostnames associated with this account have been blocked to prevent future abuse. It may take a little while for DNS servers across the internet to reflect this change.

Thank you for your report,

What a relief that things were handled so promptly.

Yay!

Not quite as drastic as the reply I got to a spam report (back in the days when ISPs actually cared about spam) from a Russian site: "The user has been terminated". With extreme prejudice? I never dared to ask, after all this was Russia...

That's great news! Good job. Although I will be giggling all day over keristor's story...

http://keristor.net/spam.html and look for the one from Cityline.ru -- I'm not sure that I have the original any more, that was back when I was first running the DOS KA9Q software and I think that disk died (a Really Big 100MB disk, yes megabytes)...

Great! Glad to hear they were terminated.

I believe you now have Balance.

I hate to rain on the parade

The fact that the ISP has acted IS good news.

And DynDNS Ninja Squad is a real cool title.

But at the moment the inconsiderate jerks/villians have just lost the host for their web site. Unless they took the hint (and inconsiderate jerks/villians rarely take hints) they may just move their act elsewhere.

Those who wish the authors well should stay alert for signs they've surfaced again,

The authors need to keep that list of e-book URL's handy and up to date.

Yep. It's like a Giant, Unending game of WhackAMole.
